DAY 4
It was raining when we woke up - but, Gary thought we could make it to Cooper Island. We decided to stop at the RMS Rhone for our first dive. It was excellent. We dove the bow, made some nice u/w video and then Debbie had a problem with her BCD. A little excitement and everyone was back in the dingy headed to the boat.

We left Salt Island and headed for Cooper Island mid day. The wind was blowing 20-25 knots and the seas were 4-6 ft. with nice-sized swells. We got to Cooper Island and Debbie & Jared opted out of the afternoon dive. Brent, Alexis, Gary and Dad took the dingy to the Marie L wreck site and had a very cool dive on this fully intact sunken tug boat. Lex had some trouble equalizing and spent the first 10 minutes at about 15 feet. After she finished her descent to 65 ft, she and Gary headed off to find the "third" wreck in the area. Dad and Brent spent some quality time making video of the wreck. At the safety stop, Brent saw a 5-6 ft, Black-tip Shark. We have the video to prove it! Click the image to see the shark in RealVideo. A hasty ascent to the dingy and then we picked up Gary and Alexis about 100 yards due north.

That night Dad and Gary did an after dinner, night dive to hunt for lobster - none found, but a good time was had in the dark shallows off of Cooper Island.

Scotch and Cigars for the intrepid lobster hunters, then off to bed.
